Requirements: 

All dental hygienists shall complete a minimum of seven (7) continuing education hours per year or fourteen (14) hours over a two (2) year period. The Board does accept courses through schools accredited by the ADA such as DH Forum.

The State Department of Health and Human Services notified him that penalties could range from $100 to $50,000 per day for noncompliance. The Speaker 

Renee Russell, RDH, BS 

Renee joined the dental profession in 1988 as a Certified Dental Assistant and completed her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene from Florence-Darlington Technical College in 1992. Renee then obtained a Bachelor of Health Science Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2006. Currently, Renee serves the needs of the dental industry as a safety trainer, consultant and speaker for Modern Practice Solutions. She is a published author and speaks nationally on OSHA and HIPAA topics and is a member of the ADHA and OSAP. Renee's previous experience as a CDA and RDH helps her to fully understand the needs of dental team members in achieving OSHA and HIPAA compliance along with infection control. Renee, her husband Daniel, and their two children reside in Alcolu, SC.
